State Data and Comparisons

Below you have two options for creating charts:  On the left select multiple states and then a single data point with which to compare those states for one or more years. The option on the right is to select multiple data points to be compared in one state.  However, not all data points can be compared because they use different metrics and are expressed in different units.  For example, the percentage of a population cannot be compared to dollars or rankings. If you are already looking at a chart and wish to change it or create a new one, click either "Edit Chart Criteria" or "Create Your Own Chart" below.

“While other organizations have compared the states’ unfunded retirement liabilities, only [Truth in Accounting] has determined the overall financial condition of every state.” - Former U.S. Comptroller General David Walker
